Police Chase Ends In Major Wreck In Griffith
A Lake County Police pursuit that originated in LaPorte County involving a red Toyota has ended on Ridge & Arbogast in Griffith with a huge wreck involving at least three other vehicles around 10:25 AM. LaPorte County Sheriff Deputies terminated the pursuit as it entered Porter County but Lake County picked up the vehicle near Gary and gave chase.
Two suspects ran on foot after the crash according to radio traffic. One was captured shortly after by K9 Jax from The Lake County Sheriff’s Department in a nearby backyard. One suspect in custody is currently at the hospital for a dog bite.
Two others were injured from the crash and transported to area hospitals. Those two injuries were innocent bystanders at the stop light.
