Today Gary Police gathered to pay homage to Officer Pearl Lanham EOW March 12, 1930.

Officer Lanham was the first female officer killed in the line of duty in the State of Indiana. She was a pioneer in her time stepping into the world of law enforcement in a time when women were not allowed.

Officer Lanham was tragically killed just two months into her tour of duty, leaving behind a husband and four small daughters.

On this the 91st anniversary of her passing we stand together in remembrance as she is NEVER FORGOTTEN.
