Police Raid in East Chicago Leads to Numerous Drug and Weapon Charges

On April 9, 2025, East Chicago Police Department investigated a controlled substance incident that occurred at a residence on the 600 block of West Chicago Avenue.

According to court documents, a search warrant was executed at the residence on April 10, 2025, in relation to a controlled substance dealing investigation into Pastian J. Fenton. Fenton, along with a female and 2 juveniles, both under the age of 10, were in the apartment at the time that the search warrant was executed.

According to court documents, police located approximately 50 individually packaged baggies of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana. The baggies weighed a collective 228.9 grams. The police also located 22 individually packaged baggies of a white rock-like substance that field tested positive for cocaine. These baggies weighed a collective 3.8 grams. The police further located 10.1 grams of pills that field tested positive for MDMA, and 3.8 grams of pills that were identified as amphetamine. The investigation also recovered a Sig Sauer SP2022 handgun, a Sauer handgun, and an AT-55 Rifle. Additionally, the police found 3 digital scales, $8808 in US Currency inside a safe, and $229 in a bedroom.

According to court documents, after Fenton was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak with the police, Fenton advised that he was aware there was marijuana and cocaine in the apartment, but claimed the cocaine was for personal use.

During the police investigation, a criminal history check on Pastian Fenton indicated that he was convicted of Domestic Battery as a felony on February 13, 2017, as well as Carrying a Handgun Without a License with a Prior Conviction on June 2, 2020.

On April 10, 2025, Pastian J. Fenton was charged with:

Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance with a minor present: F2 Felony (2 Counts)

Dealing in Schedule I Controlled Substance: F3 Felony

Dealing in Cocaine with a minor present: F3 Felony (2 Counts)

Dealing in Cocaine: F4 Felony

Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun – Prior Felony Conviction: F5 Felony

Dealing in Marijuana: F6 Felony

Possession of a Controlled Substance: Class A Misdemeanor
