Porter County Patient Tests Negative For Coronavirus
Earlier this week it was reported that a patient potentially infected with the coronavirus was traveling through Porter County. The patient was hospitalized and necessary actions were taken to protect the public.
Laboratory testing performed by the CDC was NEGATIVE for the presence of the coronavirus. The patient’s condition improved and the individual was discharged today, with no further risk to the public.
The successful handling of this situation is attributed to the collaboration with local, state and federal agencies charged with preserving and protecting public health and safety. If and when a similar even develops the same collaboration will be employed.
