Schneider Male Charged With Child Molesting
Lowell Police Department was contacted to investigate a report of child molestation that occurred on multiple occasions during January 2025.
According to court documents on January 26, 2025, Lowell Police spoke with the 13 year old victim and her family regarding the events that had taken place.
The victim stated that she started speaking with a male known to her as Robert Wlasak on Snapchat in June 2024. In November 2024, the victim and Wlasak continued to communicate via SnapChat, and eventually he met her at her residence in Lowell. He was introduced to her parents as well. According to court documents, the victim started “dating” Robert Wlasak on December 4, 2024. He told her that he was 16 years old, and that she informed him of her true age, which was 13 years old. Wlasak had also told the victim’s parents that he was 16 years old.
A parent of the victim advised police that, during a past conversation with Wlasak, Wlasak stated he was a sophomore in high school. The parent found this conversation to be suspicious because Wlasak stumbled over his words, and at first he stated that he was a freshman. A relative of the victim’s family researched Wlasak on social media and discovered that his actual age was 20. When the parent of the victim found out about Wlasak’s age, he was confronted by the parent and responded “I thought this was going to be about that.” Wlasak then continued to apologize to the parent.
Wlasak is accused of touching the 13 year old victim inappropriately. He also had sent the victim nude photos of himself.
During the investigation, a Detective with the Lowell Police Department spoke with the Assistant Fire Chief at the Schneider Fire Department. The Fire Department confirmed that Wlasak is an employee there. They also recalled Wlasak bringing the victim to the fire station once, at which time Wlasak had told fire department personnel that she was Wlasak’s girlfriend. Wlasak further advised those department staff members that the victim was 18 years old.
RNS had the opportunity to speak with the Chief of the Schneider Fire Department. The Chief indicated that, upon learning of the investigation involving Wlasak, the department immediately suspended Wlasak from his duties.
Robert D. Wlasak was charged on 02/25/2025 with:
Child Molesting – Fondling or touching with child under 14: Level 4 Felony
Around 2 PM, Tuesday, Wlasak was taken into custody in Vigo County for the active arrest warrant in this case.
