Search Still Ongoing For Prisoner
The search continues Tuesday as of 5pm, for 22-year-old Leon Taylor, who escaped from the custody of a private transportation company yesterday, according to The Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
At the time, Taylor was being extradited from Texas to face charges including murder and marijuana possession in Lake County, Indiana.
Surveillance images show that at approximately 2:10 p.m. Monday, Taylor ran away from the drive-thru area of a McDonald’s restaurant located at 35th & Grant Street in Gary, Indiana. Surveillance images also appear to show the private transportation driver attempting to follow and regain custody of Taylor, according to a release.
Taylor, of Hammond, Indiana, is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, and about 162 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
“We are looking into several promising leads as the investigation continues to develop,” Sheriff Officials said Tuesday.
