Sheriff Department Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in St John
Around 11:15 AM, Wednesday, St John Police Officers were involved an officer involved shooting near the 14000 block of W 93rd Pl, according to radio traffic.
Witnesses are telling RNS, a man came at officers with dumbbells in hand while he was visiting his parents home. Witnesses went on to say officers fired shots and the man was seen having CPR performed on him before rushing him to the hospital.
Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. telling RNS, “St. John Police received an emergency dispatch call for a domestic disturbance at a home in the 14000 block of W. 93rd Place in St. John. A St. John police officer arrived at the scene. At some point, a physical altercation occurred and shots were fired.”
A 40-year-old male was wounded and was transported to a local hospital.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau is investigating. No further information will be released at this time.
