Shootout At BP Station In Hammond Injures Two
On July 24th, at approximately 10:45 PM, Hammond Police were dispatched to the BP Amoco station located at 6906 Hohman Ave. in reference to a panic alarm and shots fired in the area, Lt. Steve Kellogg of the Hammond Police told RNS. Officers were informed that three vehicles with multiple passengers were in the lot at the gas station when an argument broke out. One vehicle started to leave the area and began firing multiple rounds at the remaining subjects, Kellogg said. The subjects at the scene returned fire. Multiple shell casings were located at the scene.
Approximately two hours later, two subjects believed to be involved in the incident came to Community Hospital in Munster with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, Kellogg said. No one is in custody at this time.
