Shots Fired In Crowded Bar Grazes 3 People
On November 18, 2023 at approximately 11:47 PM, a Schererville Police Officer was patrolling the area of 2251 S Indianapolis Blvd. when they observed a large crowd running out of Longshots Sports Bar, according to Schererville Police. The Officer entered the business and was advised by a witness running out that shots were fired inside the bar.
Schererville Officers, with the assistance of surrounding agencies, secured the scene. Officers located three victims in the front of the business who all suffered minor wounds from a ricocheting bullet fragment. The Schererville Fire Department treated all three victims on scene.
Longshots Sports Bar told RNS a patrons gun fell out of their pocket and accidentally discharged. Staff did tell us he was one of the injured parties from the fragment.
This is an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, police stated.
