Shots Fired In Road Rage Leads To Arrest Of Female

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Agents arrested and charged Syreeta Baker, a 45 year old female of Chicago, Illinois for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon.

On October 15, 2020, at approximately 5:31 a.m., the ISP District Chicago Telecommunications center received a call from a victim who stated his vehicle was shot while traveling on Interstate 57 northbound at Interstate 80 during a road rage incident. ISP District Chicago Troopers responded to a local gas station and spoke with the victim. The female driver and sole occupant of the victim vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The victim provided ISP District Chicago Troopers with information identifying the offender and the offending vehicle.

ISP DCI Agents initiated an investigation that culminated in the arrest of Baker for the offenses of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon. On Oct. 16, 2020, Baker was taken into custody without incident by ISP DCI Agents.

On Oct. 15, 2020, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office approved one charge of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony) and one charge of Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon (Class 4 Felony) against Bakerwith her bond set at $20,000, 10% to apply. There is no further information at this time.
