Stabbing In Gary Leaves One Seriously Injured
On February 7, 2020 Gary Police Department responded to the area of East 5th Avenue and Massachusetts Street, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of The Gary Police Department. Upon arrival in the area officers came into contact with a male holding a knife and a male who appeared to need medical attention. The male with the knife was secured for officer safety, Westerfield told Region News. Upon further investigation it appears the incident took place in the 500 block of Connecticut Street in an apartment. A 42 year old male from Gary was transported for treatment of a stab wound. A 54 year old male from Gary was taken into custody. No other information can be released at this time pending charges.
