State Police Investigating E-Way Shooting Near Kennedy Ramp
A gun shot victim was called in shortly after 9pm to the Hammond Police & Fire at 165th & Summer St. One victim was transported to an area hospital for a gun shot wound that occurred while riding in a white car. Police learned the actual shooting occurred near the Kennedy Ave NB exit ramp and the victim drove to 165th & Summer before getting help. Hammond Police turned the investigation over to the Indiana State Police since it occurred on the ramp. Currently there is a large police presence on 165th and the Kennedy Ave off ramp as this investigation is ongoing.
