SWAT Call Ends With Suicide In Lowell
At 7:25 AM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 Lowell Police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Southview Drive regarding an open line 911 call, according to Lowell Police Chief James Woestman.
Upon arrival of officers they observed an armed man inside of the residence. Dispatch was able to hear an ongoing domestic dispute between the male and a female over the phone line as well.
Patrol officers with the St. John Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Department arrived to assist and aided with establishing a perimeter, Woestman told RNS. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team arrived on scene and a single gunshot was heard. Officers entered the home and were able to assist the female from the residence. Officers then learned the male was deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
