T. F. South Coach Charged With Sexual Assault Of 16 Year Old Student

On December 5, 2024, the Glenwood Police Department charged Aaron J Richmond, 31 years old of Harvey, IL, with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault against a 16-year-old victim, according to Glenwood Police.

This offense occurred in early March of this year, at a private residence in the 100 block of North Pine Ln. At the time of the offense, Aaron J Richmond was a Thornton Fractional South High School coach, and the victim was a student. The investigation determined that Richmond picked the victim up from their home in another community, then drove the victim to Richmond’s former home in Glenwood IL. The victim believed they were only being given a ride to a sporting event by Richmond.

However, Richmond invited the victim into his home to wait for him, telling the victim he needed to gather items for the sporting event. Shortly after the victim entered Richmond’s home, the offense occurred.

After the offense occurred, Richmond drove the victim to the sporting event and told the victim not to tell anyone what happened. In May, the victim disclosed what happened to family members and other trusted people including mandated reporters, who informed the Glenwood PD.

A thorough investigation was conducted with assistance from the La Rabida Child Advocacy Center. After all the evidence was obtained and forensic interviews were conducted, the case facts were presented to the Cook County States Attorney’s Office for review, and charges were approved.
