T-Mobile Robbed Leading To Police Pursuit & Search

East Chicago Police have confirmed a T-Mobile store robbery took place on the 4600 block of Indianapolis Blvd but won’t be releasing an official statement till Tuesday Morning regarding this incident.

According to information derived from the scanner 2 suspects took numerous cell phones and fled on foot from the store. The suspects then got into a red minivan and fled into Hammond. Police located the van and a pursuit began leading police to South Hammond where the suspects bailed on foot near 169th & Harrison. At least one gun was found in the red van according to police over the radio. One suspect was caught near Lyman St and was checked out by paramedics for trouble breathing after a brief foot pursuit. An area search began using K-9’s in the area from 80/94 to 165th with assistance from Munster and EC Police. It’s unclear as of 9pm if another suspect was apprehended during the extensive search. A home on Fernwood was searched by police because of a call from neighbor but it is believed to be unrelated after an investigation. Hammond Police are putting together a release and we will update as that information becomes available.
