Town of Porter Appoints New Police Chief
The Porter Town Council affirmed the appointment of Todd Allen to the position of Chief of Police for the Porter Police Department at their meeting Tuesday night (5-11-21).
Allen will assume the role of Chief on May 23rd.
Allen has been a member of the Porter Police Department since 1994 (27 years) and has been serving as the assistant chief under current Police Chief James Spanier.
Spanier recently announced his retirement from the position of Chief. His career in law enforcement spans 30 years between the Chesterton and the Porter Police Departments. Spanier will continue working for the Town of Porter and will head the Town of Porter Public Works Department as superintendent.
