Tree Trimmer Bucket Truck Catches Fire After Hitting Lines
On Tuesday, 9/28/2021, around 4:30 PM Crown Point Fire responded to a truck on fire in the 500 block of Dexter Dr, according to Crown Point Fire officials.
On arrival crews found a tree trimming truck had caught on fire while working around NIPSCO power lines. The tree trimmer escaped injury but the truck was totaled. Fire crews had to wait for NIPSCO to de-energize the lines before extinguishing the fire. Power has since been restored.
