Triple Fatal Crash In Gary
A triple fatal crash has Dunes Hwy closed in both directions just West of County Line Road in Gary.
Initial information suggests a vehicle was involved in a hit and run near 12 & County Line Road before fleeing westbound on Dunes Highway. The driver went to pass a semi and collided head on with an oncoming vehicle at a high rate of speed. Three people were killed instantly on scene. The Lake County Coroner has just arrived around midnight. Lake County Accident Reconstruction Team is on scene investigating. We will have further updates on this in the morning.
Update – The Lake County Coroner has identified two of the three individuals involved. Victim 1 has been identified has Antonio Burks, 44, of Gary. Victim 2 has been identified has Jaclyn M. D’ Accena, 36, of Gary. Victim 3 is still listed as John Doe.
