Two Females Shot After Argument With Known Suspect
On August 29th, at approximately 5:27 a.m., Hammond Police responded to 468 Michigan St. in reference to a shooting that took place, Lt. Steve Kellogg told RNS.
Officers arrived and located a 29-year-old female and a 26-year-old female who had both sustained gunshot wounds to the leg. They were immediately transported to the local hospitals in stable condition, Kellogg stated.
Officers on scene learned through witnesses the identity of the suspect and made contact with her. Officers convinced the suspect to come to them and turn herself in, which she did. The suspect was arrested on scene and the firearm was recovered. All parties were known to each other and this incident stemmed from some type of argument.
