Two Females Shot While Watching Football
On September 21, 2020 approximately 8:00 PM the Gary Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Noble Street for reports of gunshot victims, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield. Upon arrival officers discovered two females with gunshot wounds.
One female 32-years-old from Gary was struck in the leg. One female 36-years old from Crown Point was struck in the arm. Both females stated they were at a relative’s house on Noble Street to watch football, Westerfield told RNS. After having been at the residence approximately forty minutes gun fire came from outside through the walls striking both females. No suspect was seen, police said.
The females were transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment, both are listed in stable condition. Anyone with information on this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective Sergeant Fazekas at 219-881-1210 or the Crime Tip Line at 866-CRIME-GP.
