
Two Illinois Men Charged After Retail Thefts in Schererville and Munster
Two Illinois men are facing charges in Lake County after police say they stole Nike shoes from Dick’s Sporting Goods in Schererville and more than $2,000 worth of products from a CVS in Munster.
According to court documents, Andre Lenard Conner Young, 23, and Jalen Equann Radcliff, 23, were arrested on August 29, 2025, after officers stopped a black Hyundai in the 8200 block of Calumet Avenue shortly after the thefts .
Investigators said loss prevention at Dick’s Sporting Goods reported Young left the store with two boxes of Nike shoes valued at $229.98. When officers located the vehicle, they found the stolen shoe boxes on top of the car. Inside, police said they discovered a large quantity of Plan B, allergy medications, and other products not in store bags.
During interviews, Young admitted to taking the shoes, while Radcliff admitted the medications had been stolen from CVS in Munster with plans to resell them. CVS management later confirmed that $2,187.80 worth of merchandise was missing .
Officers also reported locating a handgun inside the vehicle, which was secured for safekeeping. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
