Two Lake Station Men Arrested After Battery In Valpo
Valparaiso Police responded to the 1200 block of Chicago St. on August 21, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m. regarding the report of an on-going disturbance at a residence, according to a press release.
Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered an injured male bleeding from a laceration to the right side of his chest. Police further came into contact with several other parties involved in the incident and initiated an investigation into the actions that had occurred.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Tavaurus Downs, 19, of Lake Station on a charge of Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Dexter Nalls, 27, of Lake Station on a charge of Battery. Downs and Nalls were later transported to and secured at the Porter County Jail on their related charges.
The injured male was transported from near the scene by a medical helicopter to an area trauma center for treatment. The police investigation remains open and on-going.
