Two Men Dead After Sunday Morning Shooting
Early Sunday morning around 6:22 AM, Gary Police Officers responded to several calls of multiple shots being fired in the area of 1500 Jackson Street, according to Gary Police.
At the scene officers found two 24-year-old Gary men had been shot and killed. One victim was found in a car. The other man was discovered in the grass area of Froebel Park. As police were processing the scene two vehicles were towed as part of the investigation.
The Lake County Coroner has identified both victims as Jaquamold White, 24, of Gary and Ja’Markis Hackett, 24, of Gary. Both deaths have been ruled a homicide.
The shootings are being investigated by the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force. Anyone with information may call (219) 755-3855.
