Two Shot At Stoplight After Disturbance At Wiggles In Hammond

On October 31st, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Hammond Police officers were patrolling the area of Summer St. and Indianapolis Blvd. when an officer heard approximately 15 gunshots in the area, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.

The officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle driver saw the officer and stopped, explaining that he and a passenger in his vehicle had been shot, Kellogg said. The officer immediately called for medical attention for the victims.

The 30-year-old male victim from Chicago stated that unknown subjects began shooting at the them in the parking lot of Wiggles located in the 2100 block of Summer Street. The 28-year-old female passenger from Danville was shot in the stomach. Injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time and both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
