Two Shot In Calumet City Wednesday

Around 3:15pm Wednesday, Calumet City Police and EMS were called to the 700 block of Buffalo Avenue, according to Calumet City Police Chief Christopher Fletcher.

There, investigators found a 17-year-old Calumet City resident suffering from a gunshot wound. Police learned that the incident actually occurred one block away from the initial call. 

Near 153rd & Buffalo investigators found Jocari Chapman, 19, of Markham, in a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Fletcher said. EMS personnel began administering life-saving measures on the scene and transported him to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The 17-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries and was listed in stable condition.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and Calumet City Police are investigating this incident. Anyone with information should callĀ 708-868-2500.
