Two Shot On Bishop Ford Sunday Morning

 Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting, which occurred on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Interstate 94 (Bishop Ford) northbound between 120thStreet and 108th Street.

ISP officers received information from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) that a shooting had occurred on Interstate 94 northbound between 120th Street and 108th Street. Chicago Police advised that the victim vehicle, its driver, and passenger had relocated off the Interstate (near 75th and State Street, Chicago, IL) and were standing by for assistance. Upon arrival, ISP officers learned the driver of the victim vehicle, a 32-year-old female of Champaign, IL, and passenger of the victim vehicle, a 42-year-old female of Champaign, IL, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of gunfire during the shooting. The driver and passenger were both transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary reports indicate the shots were fired from an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 94 between 120th Street and 108th Street. At approximately 4:22 a.m., all northbound lanes were shut down for the investigation with traffic diverted off the interstate to 130th Street (both eastbound and westbound). All lanes were reopened at approximately 6:15 a.m. The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
