UPDATE – 394 Shooting Now A Homicide
Illinois State Police officials are investigating a shooting, which occurred on Illinois Route 394 southbound at Glenwood-Dyer Road, at approximately 8:21 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.
ISP officers responded for a reported expressway shooting. Upon their arrival they located four victims; one victim, 28-year-old male of Ford Heights, Illinois sustained life threatening injuries from gun fire and succumbed to his injuries. The other three victims were uninjured. The victim has not yet been identified by The Cook County Medical Examiners Office.
Preliminary reports indicate the shots were fired from a white sedan near this location. All lanes of Illinois Route 394 northbound and southbound were shut down at approximately 8:50 p.m. for the investigation. All lanes were reopened at approximately 1:50 a.m., police said. The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
