UPDATE- Merrillville Police Arrest Girlfriend In Sunday’s Homicide
On Sunday, December 20, 2020 the Merrillville Police Department was dispatched to the 5700 Block of Grant Street in reference to a report of a male subject that was shot, according to Assistant Chief Konstantinos Nuses of The Merrillville Police Department.
Upon arrival police located the male subject, identified as Masceo Robinson, on the floor of an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Robinson was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
During the course of the investigation Merrillville investigators learned Robinson had been shot by his girlfriend, Princess A. Thurman, Nuses stated. Thurman fled the area prior to police arrival on scene and was believed to have traveled back to her home located in Lansing, Michigan.
On Tuesday, December 22, 2020 this case was presented to the Lake County Prosecutor where Princess A. Thurman was charged with Murder.
On Wednesday, December 23, 2020 Thurman was taken into custody at a relative’s residence in Buchanan, Michigan with the assistance of the Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team.
