Update On Jasper County Plane Crash

In the afternoon hours of March 13th, 2020 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a plane that may have crash landed in a field east of I-65 in the area of the 215 MM.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area and located the aircraft in a farm field on the north side of C.R. 700 S. east of I-65. Both occupants of the aircraft were out of the aircraft walking around. Neither requested medical attention and were subsequently identified as Ringo Lagos (51 years of age) of Kihei, Hawaii and his son Brandon Lagos (28 years of age) of Severn, Maryland.

The occupants of the airplane advised that they began having engine problems and decided to make a emergency landing in the farm field. The plane involved was identified as a 1968 Bellanca fixed wing single-engine aircraft.

The FAA and NTSB have both been advised of the incident.

This is still an ACTIVE investigation officials stated.
