Valparaiso Man Charged in Early-Morning Resisting and Reckless Driving Case
Dyllon Lee Detmar, 30, of Valparaiso, has been charged after police say he fled at a high rate of speed from an attempted traffic stop before abandoning his vehicle and running southbound on foot on Rustic Crook Circle.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident began around 2:04 a.m. on November 19, 2025, when a silver Honda CR-V was observed in the area of Vale Park Road and Froberg Road in Valparaiso. The vehicle was reported to be traveling at approximately 80 miles per hour in a posted 35 mph zone and went left of center on the roadway more than once while accelerating.
The vehicle continued westbound on Lincolnway and then onto County Road 400 North, maintaining a high rate of speed while crossing the right fog line. According to the affidavit, emergency lights were activated as the officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The Honda then turned northbound onto Froberg Road, disregarded a stop sign at the intersection, and turned westbound onto Indian Summer Way.
At approximately 2:05 a.m., the Honda was observed stopped near Indiana Summer Circle and Rusted Crook Circle with the passenger door open and a female walking toward the stopped police vehicle. She was instructed to return to the passenger seat. When the officer approached the Honda, the driver’s seat was empty.
The female passenger identified the driver as “Dyllon Lee,” said he had been wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, and said he had left on foot southbound from the vehicle. Investigators later confirmed the driver to be Dyllon Lee Detmar through driver’s-license and computer-check records.
