Valparaiso Police Investigating Battery
The Valparaiso Police responded to the 700 block of Center St. at approximately 1:20 a.m. Tuesday regarding the report of a disturbance in progress, according to Valparaiso Police.
Reports indicated that several subjects were on scene and that a man was down as a result of the disturbance. When police arrived, they discovered a male subject had sustained mul- tiple injuries and medical treatment was provided by Valparaiso Fire personnel who had also arrived on scene. The male was transported to Northwest Health- Porter for further evaluation and treatment. An update on his condition is not currently available, police said at 5:30 AM.
The police investigation continued and resulted in Michael Bachar, 43, of Valparaiso being taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Battery and Strangulation. Bachar is incarcerated at the Porter County Jail. The investigation remains open and on-going at this time.
