Vehicle Shot At Then Crashes Killing One
One person was shot at inside a Chevy Impala shortly after 12:30 PM Friday going East on 11th Ave near Burr St.
The Impala traveling at a high rate of speed blew through the stop sign crashing into a minivan traveling North on Clark seriously injuring two people and killing a third, police told RNS. The shooter followed the Impala to the crash where he continued firing at the victim in the Impala, police told RNS.
The woman who succumbed to her injuries at Northlake has been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Belinda Cox, 62, of Gary.
Gary Police and The Lake County Sheriff Crash Reconstruction Team are currently on scene investigating.
