Wanted Child Molester Stabbed

On December 8, at approximately 12:10 AM, Gary Police Officers A. Hamed, and D. Paulson were dispatched to the Gary Metro Center at 100 W. 4th Ave. for a stabbing victim, according to Gary Police.

On arrival they made contact with Armex Brown, 28, of Indianapolis. After being transported to the hospital Brown told the officers that he and several other men were on the second floor of Metro Center and broke up a fight between several individuals. Brown told police they all had been drinking earlier in the evening. After Brown intervened one of the men, he describes as “the older man”, approached Brown as he was leaving the building. The two began to argue, police said. As the two men argued, another male joined the “older man” and they began to physically assault Brown. While they were fighting, Brown said a silver or tan Nissan pulled up to the center and a man got out the car and blocked the exit door preventing him from getting away from the two men. While the door was being blocked the “older man” told the second to stab Brown which he did. Brown suffered a stab wound to his left leg, a busted lip, and bruises.

This case is being investigated by Sgt. W. Fazekas. Armex Brown was treated for his injuries and arrested on outstanding Marion County warrants for Child Molesting & Failure to Register As A Sex Offender.
