Westville Correctional Facility COVID-19 Cases Skyrocket
LaPorte Department of Health began testing inmates at the beginning of April after announcing 4 positive cases on April 8. Since April 8th the positive cases have skyrocketed in the prison to 90 positive cases and one death as of April 14th. Multiple reports of inmates not having proper PPE or social distancing have been reported by complaints from inmates to family members. The prison counts for over 85% of the cases in LaPorte County which as of Thursday as 112 cases in the county.
We have reached out to the prison but no response was given as of Thursday.
