Wheatfield Man Charged For Heinous Crimes Against Child
On the evening of March 14, 2025, Xavier L. Newbury, 23, of Wheatfield, Indiana, was booked into the Jasper County Detention Center on an outstanding felony arrest warrant issued by the Jasper County Circuit Court on March 12, 2025.
The warrant includes the following charges:
Three counts of Child Molesting – Level 4 Felony
Two counts of Child Molesting – Level 3 Felony
Two counts of Rape – Level 3 Felony
Confinement – Level 5 Felony
Sexual Misconduct with a Minor – Level 4 Felony
Sexual Misconduct with a Minor – Level 5 Felony
These charges stem from an investigation that began on September 23, 2024, after the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the allegations. Detectives determined that the juvenile victim was subjected to these offenses on five separate occasions over the past four years.
