Woman Shot Overnight In Bishop Noll Parking Lot
On April 11, 2021, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Hammond police responded to a call of a shooting in the area of the 1500 block of Hoffman ( Bishop Noll Parking Lot), according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.
Upon arrival, officers located a female who had been shot while sitting in a vehicle. The victim was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The victim was identified by The Lake County Coroner as 43-year-old Monica J. Mills of East Chicago.
The incident is under investigation but police do have a person of interest in custody, Kellogg said. This is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public, students, or school personnel.
