Woman Shot In Lake Station Home Invasion
On Friday, November 5th, 2021 just before 12 A.M. Lake Station Officers were dispatched to The Mansards Dulec in the 900 Block of LaPorte St in Lake Station for a reported shooting, according to Chief James Richardson.
Officers arrived in the area and located a female victim with a gunshot wound to her arm. The female stated she was inside her residence when she heard a commotion coming from outside between a male and her sister. She stated she observed two black males in black clothing with ski masks brandishing a firearm. The males then attempted to push their way into the residence demanding items from inside when a struggle ensued, police said. During the struggle a shot was fired and the female was struck in the arm. The males then fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction.
The female was transported to an area hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries. The incident appears to be an isolated matter after speaking with witnesses.
