Woman Struck By South Shore Train In Hammond
Around 6:30 AM Tuesday, a pedestrian was struck by a westbound South Shore Commuter Train near the Hammond Station platform off of Hohman Ave.
Hammond Police & Fire responded and found a female deceased. NICTD Police are investigating this incident.
All South Shore Line trains were stopped a couple hours while officials investigated.
UPDATE – The Lake County Coroner has identified the female as Raquel Rodriquez, 53, of Hammond. A GoFundMe has been setup by family for Raquel. The link is here https://gofund.me/82f903ec
