Woman Struck By Vehicle Airlifted

At 4:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2020 the Ogden Dunes Fire Department was dispatched to 61 Ski Hill Road between between Woodland Trail and Ski Hill Place in Ogden Dunes, Indiana for a female in her 50’s with traumatic injuries from being struck by a vehicle moving backwards on a driveway with a steep incline, according to Ogden Dunes Fire Chief Eric Kurtz.

Portage Fire Department responded with a Rescue Ambulance and Paramedic Engine Companies. The UCAN – University of Chicago Aeromedical Network helicopter air ambulance was requested to fly to a Landing Zone established at the Ogden Dunes Kratz Soccer Field, Kurtz said. The patient was transported via UCAN to the University of Chicago Medical Center. The Ogden Dunes Police Department is investigating the injury vehicle crash.

Ogden Dunes Fire Department was assisted by The Portage Fire Department, Ogden Dunes Police Department, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Burns Harbor Police Department, and US Park Rangers from Indiana Dunes National Park and Porter County Central Communications.
