10 Month Old Shot On Bishop Ford Monday
Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting which occurred on Monday, July 27, 2020, at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Interstate 94 northbound north of 115thStreet.
ISP officers responded to a local area hospital after being notified of a gunshot victim from an expressway shooting which occurred on Interstate 94 northbound just north of 115th Street. The driver of the victim vehicle, a 21-year-old male from Chicago, Illinois and the front seat passenger, a 17-year-old female from Chicago, Illinois, did not sustain any injuries. The rear seat passenger, a 10-month-old female from Chicago, Illinois, suffered serious injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim vehicle was traveling on the expressway at the location when a single shot was heard. The driver of the victim vehicle observed the infant, who was secured in the back seat passenger area of the vehicle, was injured. The driver transported the infant to a local area hospital. At approximately 1:25 p.m., all lanes on Interstate 94 northbound north of 115TH were closed for the investigation; with traffic diverted off at 115th Street. At approximately 2:05 p.m., all northbound lanes on Interstate 94 were reopened. The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
