14 Year Old Shot In Leg During Basketball Game
A 14 year old was wounded by gunfire Tuesday afternoon in East Chicago. Police and Paramedics were called to the 4800 block of Alexander around 5:30pm Tuesday for a gun shot victim. On arrival police found a 14 year old male shot in the leg that was allegedly playing basketball near the Martin Luther King Center, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera of the East Chicago Police. The boy is in stable condition with non life threatening injuries, Rivera told RNS.
Police were told an argument broke out during the basketball game and an unknown male to the teen shot him in his leg. At this time police do not have any suspects in custody but are investigating. We will have updates as this investigation is ongoing.
