19 Year Old Shot & Killed Overnight In Gary
Lake County Metro Homicide & Gary Police are investigating a homicide that occurred last night around 11pm. The victim got a ride to Methodist Northlake where he later succumbed to injuries. Police later determined the crime scene was located at 25th & Clark.
Gary Police received a call of shots fired in the area of the 4300 block of W. 23rd around 10:48pm but Gary Police were tied up on other calls according to radio traffic. A lack of working patrol cars and man power has become an issue over the last year.
The coroner was dispatched to the hospital at 11:34pm Monday. The victim has been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Jasmin D. Owens, 19, of Gary.
