61 Year Old Portage Man Gunned Down At Gary Intersection
On January 15, 2020 approximately 4:45 pm the Gary Police Department responded to a call for a traffic accident with shots fired in the area of 5th Avenue and Clark Rd, Lt. Dawn Westerfield of The Gary Police said. Upon arrival of officers it was discovered a male who had been driving had gun shot wounds and had rear ended another vehicle. The male was transported to an area hospital and was later declared deceased at the hospital. The victim has now been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Raymond McDuffie, 61, of Portage. McDuffie was struck by multiple gunshots while waiting at the stoplight.
