16 Year Old Girl Flown Out After Hammond Shooting
On June 15th, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Hammond police responded to the 5800 block of Calumet Ave. in reference to shots fired, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg.
Officers arrived and were advised that two males were seen arguing in the parking lot and one of them fired a shot. Casings were located near the scene, Kellogg stated.
A short time later, a 16-year-old female was brought into St. Margaret’s with a gunshot wound to her leg and a graze wound to her head. The victim was flown to a Chicago hospital in stable condition.
