70 Year Old Killed During Robbery Attempt Saturday
Gary Police are investigating an early morning homicide that took place Saturday around 7:30 AM at the Clark Gas Station located at 2295 Grant St.
Gary Police told RNS that a male was at the gas pump when suspect(s) attempted to rob the man. The victim was shot during the confrontation and the suspects fled the location on foot. Police searched the immediate area utilizing K9’s but ended with no results. Police had no further information to release.
The victim has been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Wallace Broadnax, 70, of Gary. Wallace is a retired Gary Firefighter with over 25 years of service to the city.
