Two Illinois Men Charged With Armed Robbery In St. John

At about 3:45am Monday, St. John Police received a complaint of a theft from motor vehicle in progress in the 10600 Block of Bailey St. The homeowner confronted two suspects and when he tried to physically restrain one of the suspects, the second suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and the two fled the area in a white SUV. The homeowner was uninjured.
About 20 minutes later, St. John Police received a complaint from a resident in the 10500 Block of Manor, reporting that they heard their overhead garage door opening. Cedar Lake and Schererville Police were already in the area assisting St. John in looking for the suspect vehicle from the first call. Cedar Lake Police spotted the white SUV in the 10700 Block of Manor Drive and conducted a traffic stop assisted by Schererville and St. John Police. Two male suspects were taken into custody and lodged at the Lake County Jail.
Two factual points. 1. A clear and distinctive pattern as to where these criminals are coming from to commit crimes and who these these criminal are. And 2. Thank you to the law enforcement officers and the departments they work for, for an outstanding arrest. This is without any doubt, proof of officers going above and beyond the call of duty. To the officers supervisors: this arrest is worthy of a department commendation for each of the involved officers.
Looks like St John has been “discovered”. Twenty years ago Chicago didn’t know we existed. Now we are a Chicago suburb and need to be on our toes!

Instead of robbing people, how about get a job !! The world is going to get no better!! People like these guys would rather rob than get a REAL job!!!!!!!
