One Person Shot In Highland Wednesday Night
Around 9:30 PM Wednesday multiple shots were fired directly north of Meijer in a condo parking lot in the 2300 block of Teakwood Circle in Highland.
At least one victim suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital, Highland Police told RNS.
A witness nearby described the gunfire as at least two people exchanging gunfire. A crime scene was setup in the small parking lot of the condos with multiple shell case markings.
Investigators determined from the victim that as he was exiting his vehicle he noticed a male black subject, wearing a mask, exit a dark or grey in color SUV type vehicle, possibly a Dodge Durango, and fire several rounds at him. The victim returned fire, it is unknown if the suspect/suspect vehicle was struck. The suspect vehicle fled Westbound on Teakwood and Southbound on Prairie Ave.
Residents and businesses in the area are asked to check any video recording devices which may have captured the incident or suspect vehicle. This is believed to be an isolated incident.
