Adrik Edwin Mora, 32, of Hammond, is accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Hammond police were dispatched to a residence in the 7000 block of Alabama Avenue at approximately 2:28 p.m. on July 22 after the child’s mother learned the juvenile had disclosed she had been raped. The mother returned home, spoke with the child, and then confronted Mora. Court documents state Mora admitted to raping the juvenile before leaving the residence, and the mother called 911.
Police processed the residence and collected evidence. While officers were still at the home, investigators said Mora sent the child’s mother a text message stating, “Im turning myself in after this 300 dallor of coke I will die n deserve everything coming to me bye.” Officers later located Mora near Calumet Avenue and Chicago Street, conducted a felony traffic stop, and took him into custody.
According to court records, the child’s mother later told detectives the juvenile disclosed Mora had been sexually assaulting her repeatedly since the mother’s lengthy hospitalization in early 2025. The juvenile later confirmed those allegations to detectives before a forensic interview was scheduled.
Investigators said Mora agreed to speak with detectives after waiving his Miranda rights. According to the affidavit, Mora stated, “I’m guilty,” and admitted there had been ongoing sexual contact beginning in 2025. Court documents state Mora admitted having sexual intercourse with the juvenile in April 2026 and again on July 22, 2026.
Investigators said Mora also consented to searches of his vehicle and cellphone and voluntarily provided a DNA sample.
