Aydan Conner Hitchcock, 23, is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after Porter County deputies allegedly found him partially nude and intoxicated inside a disabled vehicle along U.S. 30, where police said he was exposing himself and fondling his genitals before resisting arrest.

According to court documents, deputies were dispatched around 6:36 a.m. on July 24 to the eastbound shoulder of U.S. 30 near W. Joliet Road after a report of a naked man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the door open. Officers reported Hitchcock was wearing only a yellow T-shirt, with no pants or underwear, and appeared aroused while touching himself.

When officers told him to put on his shorts, Hitchcock allegedly became belligerent and argumentative. Police said they noticed a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes, and that he was unsteady while getting out of the vehicle and attempting to put on his shorts and shoes. A pocketknife was also removed from his shorts for officer safety.

Hitchcock allegedly told officers his Jeep began making a “stuttering” noise after he passed a Speedway in Lake County and that he eventually ran out of gas along the roadway. As officers escorted him to the rear of the vehicle, he allegedly said, “Of course, I’m going to get f* by you guys.”

When asked where he was coming from, Hitchcock allegedly said he was returning home from a friend’s house “down in Gary.” He said he had been “just hanging out for a birthday party, for all I know,” and told officers he arrived around 10:30 p.m. the night before and left sometime between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Police noted it was already approximately 6:51 a.m. and said that timeline was inconsistent with the expected travel time from Gary to his Valparaiso residence.

When asked whether he had consumed alcohol, Hitchcock initially said he had not, but then allegedly admitted drinking the previous day and insisted he was “nowhere near intoxicated.” He also told officers, “I know how this cop scenario goes, I just went through it like two weeks ago. I’m not doing it, so I’m not doing it. I’ve been sober. I’ve been nothing but sober. My car ran out of gas, and none of my family members will answer.”

Hitchcock then allegedly told officers they had two options: “A) You guys help me out with gas or B) Just leave me alone so I can figure out family bullshit so I can get on my merry way.”

When officers asked about his exposed genitals, Hitchcock allegedly stated, “What you saw, me gripping my f penis tip, hoping that I didn’t piss myself.”

Police said Hitchcock refused commands when officers attempted to arrest him for public indecency, yelled “No,” tucked his arms in, and physically pulled away for approximately 30 seconds before he was handcuffed. He later allegedly refused to walk to a patrol vehicle and told officers, “So every person in Porter County, you know, that the Valparaiso Sheriff’s Department isn’t good.”

At a local hospital, police said Hitchcock continued yelling, resisted getting out of the patrol vehicle, spit on several people, struck walls and a window, told officers they would not be cops for long, and screamed that officers were raping him.

During the investigation, officers learned Hobart police were investigating a separate incident at a Speedway parking lot where a man wearing no pants was reportedly walking around with his genitals exposed and leaving notes on vehicles seeking sexual favors. According to the affidavit, a similar note found in Hitchcock’s vehicle offered to perform oral sex and listed his cellphone number.

A chemical test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.178.
