Hebron Woman Killed In Crash Friday
On Friday, 06/09/2023, at approximately 8:00 PM, police officers with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 15600 block of South Grove Road in Hebron for a report of a single vehicle crash with injuries, according to Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, had been traveling south on South Grove Road. It’s believed the SUV had been traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, Martinez said. The driver of the Chevy lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle began to spin, exited the roadway, re-entered the roadway and continued eastbound across the Road. The Chevy left the roadway again and hit two trees.
A female driver was declared deceased who has since been identified by the Lake County Coroner as Nadia Flewellen, 22, of Hebron. The passenger, a 20-year-old male from Lowell, was transported to St. Anthony’s hospital for treatment.
The crash is still under investigation.
